Our customers – a leading business network in German speaking countries - met in January 2019 with all of their 2000 employees for a kick off event for 2019 in the Grand Elysée Hotel in Hamburg. For 380 of the 2000 employees, the event was the start of a new structure: this is how 3 business areas were developed under the motto "Become one Lime”.

The kick off chain reaction of a business network.

Our customers – a leading business network in German speaking countries – met in January 2019 with all of their 2000 employees for a kick off event for 2019 in the Grand Elysée Hotel in Hamburg. For 380 of the 2000 employees, the event was the start of a new structure: this is how 3 business areas were developed under the motto “Become one Lime”.

Many of the 380 colleagues had never seen or worked together with the majority of their colleagues up until this point.

Aims

At the forefront, the aim is for the colleagues get to know the newly structured area better. A company that provides a business network as a service itself, can ultimately not neglect the personal contact of their own colleagues. In addition to getting to know each other, a new team spirit should arise, a joint identity created and working together and communication strengthened – the basis for “joint success”.

Solution

For this, the BITOU bestseller “Chain Reaction XXL” was chosen. This event structure offers the possibility to reflect on the structure of the company and it can be adapted in some places to perfectly mirror the booking company.

Implementation

In this event, not only is the usual long chain reaction built, but also three strands that lead into one at the end. The leading together symbolised the founding of a new department for the customers from the three old areas. With the song “Let’s get it started” by the Black Eyed Peas, the new start was introduced musically and lyrically. For sustainability, the event was also video recorded and cut into a short film which was made available to the participants through the intranet.

Effect

Even the change of room, from the introduction in the large ballroom, to the team task of the chain reaction on the basement floor of the car park was an experience. The teams constructed and designed their tables full of energy and a lot of creativity. With perfect time management, the teams were punctual for the run through of the chain reaction. The excitement grew after each successful run of a strand, until the end of the third strand when the song “Let’s get it started” sounded through the underground car park and the confetti streamers were triggered with a bang, as a result of the successful end of the chain reaction. With a lot of cheering and clapping and a grin on their faces, the participants left the underground garage in the direction of the new beginning.
