Return from Mars – the team impulse for collaboration

Back to Earth Together – The Story

We’re writing year 2045. The first Mars mission has been launched successfully. A crew has finally been been sent to Mars and also to get them succefully back to Earth. The astronauts have experienced a lot on their long journey and are exhaused. After a few months in space, their physical fitness has been strongly reduced, even though they have made a lot of progress in the last few years and they haven’t lost as much muscle mass as they did in the early 20s during long space flights, to the point where they couldn’t even leave the space capsules by themselves when back on Earth.

And now this: the contact to Houston is lost shortly before landing and the space capsule has landed somewhere in the Kursk mountains. Now it is about the survival of the weakened crew. The contact to Houston has to quickly be reestablished and the location for the rescue has to be passed on.

The aim is to find a map. This will only be possible when four to six colleagues work together in small groups. They investigate the coordinates and decipher information, find creative solutions and keep developing strategies in order to best budget their own ressources. With the help of the map, the exhausted astronauts finally find the appropriate place in order to make contact with Houston again and to be rescued. Challenges are waiting to be solved – always together! As to be successful, the teams can by no means separate.

Customer reviews

“Entertaining team impulse and good training tool around the communication behavior and the precision of information transfer. One is always surprised how theoretically supposedly logical topics do not run optimally in everyday practice. The only thing that helps is practice, practice, practice.”
