Haka is a ceremonial dance of the Maori people. It has become known through the New Zealand rugby team: the All Blacks, to gain the respect of their opponents before the beginning of the game, demonstrating power and unity. With body, voice and mimes, the team makes the statement loud and clear: we will win!
What makes a team a team?
The Haka awakens new power in a team and strengthens team spirit. For example, the ceremony is appropriate for a kick off team event at the start of a new project, at the beginning of the year, or as the start of an intensive team training. As it aims at the factor which makes a team a team: that every single person identifies with the whole.
Through rhythmic clapping and stamping, team spirit gets stronger and stronger during the team event. And at the same time, each dancer gives the Haka an individual sound with their own voice, emotions and posture.
